On the surface, the pastor, Glenn, has a great "stage presence" (charming, energetic, charismatic), and many times could preach a great sermon. However, his walk did not synch with his talk, as many were fooled (and probably still are) to believe. Only when speaking to him in private, unless you were in agreement with him, he hedged toward being hot-headed, confrontational, and would say things such as "if you don't like what I have to say, you can find another church"-- which would not be an issue if the conversation was about upholding a biblical principle, not a mere personal disagreement. He appeared to be more concerned about being right, whipping out memorized scripture to boast his memorization of scripture (not always properly exegeting), rather than righting the situation. Of course he didn't act this way when not in private.

In addition, although he had preached multiple sermons about the sanctity of the marriage covenant, he apparently didn't care to do his job as a pastor to chastise a particular congregant for her clear intention to divorce her husband who wanted to remain married. In fact, he did just the opposite, by going over to the married couple's home to lend support to the the wife in telling her husband she wanted to get a divorce (note that the wife provided no biblical reason for her wanting the divorce). This is unheard of for a pastor!

Although the pastor claimed to have loved every member of this particular family (with children), who had attended his church for a couple of years, ever since the wife divorced her husband, this pastor cared less to make any effort in communicating with the husband who had been devastated.

It is no wonder why this church does not seem to be growing, and apparently doesn't have enough funds to fix one set of its front entrance steps, which has been roped off for about a half a year.

It's a real shame, since this church seemingly had real potential to serve the Lord. Hopefully, one day, the pastor will properly repent of his actions, and mature.

  • I personally LOVE the pastor and everyone at the church, Without pastor Glenn, my family would have gone down the drain. He has always been there for us, even in the worst times. My family has had hardships that not many people would understand, and pastor glenn, his family, and the church family helped us see it from a biblical point of view. His family took mine in at one point or another. Without them we would not be where we are today....a strong independent family. A great place to go and worship, the atmosphere is great and you always feel like family.
